I&rsquo;ve been known to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themediterraneandish.com\/5-minute-marinated-feta\/\">marinate it<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themediterraneandish.com\/creamy-whipped-feta-dip\/\">whip it into creamy goodness<\/a> to serve with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themediterraneandish.com\/homemade-pita-chips\/\">pita chips<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themediterraneandish.com\/tirokafteri\/\">make is spicy<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themediterraneandish.com\/sigara-boregi-turkish-cheese-rolls\/\">roll it up<\/a> in crispy phyllo dough, or serve it baked with veggies as in my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themediterraneandish.com\/baked-feta-recipe\/\">Greek-style baked feta<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And today&rsquo;s 5-minute chunky dip is another feta recipe I can&rsquo;t wait for you to try!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-loaded-feta-dip\"><strong>Loaded feta dip!<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This is one of the easiest party dips you&rsquo;ll make using a block of feta, crumbled and mixed with chopped cucumbers, jalapeno for heat, and delicious, sweet-tangy bits of my favorite <a href=\"https:\/\/shop.themediterraneandish.com\/product\/sun-dried-tomatoes\/\">sun-dried tomatoes<\/a>. I love adding a handful of fresh herbs I have on hand (chives or green onions and basil are especially great!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All you do is mix everything together in a big bowl, no food processor needed (remember, this is a chunky dip). (Some varieties can contain up to 30% goat&rsquo;s milk as well.) Try to use a block of feta that&rsquo;s been packed in the brine over a vacuum-packed one. And try to avoid pre-crumbled feta. It is dry, and will not yield the soft, perfectly scoop-able texture we are aiming for in this dip recipe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By feta in the brine, I mean feta that&rsquo;s packed in a container of salt water. Compared to the vacuum-sealed or pre-crumbled varieties, feta in the brine is creamy, tangy, and the brine helps it keep in the fridge for a while. As mentioned earlier, I don&rsquo;t recommend using pre-crumbled feta.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cream cheese<\/strong> &ndash; Take the cream cheese out of the fridge about 30 to 45 minutes before putting together the dip. This will give it some time to soften and will make it easier to work with. You can also use store-bought or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themediterraneandish.com\/homemade-labneh-recipe\/\">homemade labneh<\/a>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Extra virgin olive oil<\/strong> &ndash; I love our <a href=\"https:\/\/shop.themediterraneandish.com\/product\/early-harvest-extra-virgin-olive-oil\/\">Early Harvest EVOO<\/a> in this feta dip. With its rich, pungent flavor, it complements the other bold components of this recipe.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Honey<\/strong> &ndash; One teaspoon of <a href=\"https:\/\/shop.themediterraneandish.com\/product\/alfa-thyme-forest-wild-herbs-small\/\">honey<\/a> is used for subtle sweetness to balance the tangy feta and sun-dried tomatoes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Persian or English cucumber<\/strong> &ndash; A bit of chopped cucumber adds crunch and body.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Jalapeno<\/strong> &ndash; You need just 1 chopped jalapeno (it introduces just a little kick), but if you&rsquo;d rather not have any spice, you can leave it out!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/shop.themediterraneandish.com\/product\/sun-dried-tomatoes\/\"><strong>Sun-dried tomato<\/strong><\/a><strong> bits<\/strong> &ndash; Chopped sun-dried tomatoes brighten this cheese dip with a bit of sweetness and delicious tang!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fresh basil<\/strong> &ndash; Peppery basil brings in some bright color and subtle hints of anise and mint.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Chives<\/strong> &ndash; Chopped chives have a very mild &ldquo;oniony&rdquo; taste without being too sharp or overwhelming.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to make this feta dip recipe:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This Mediterranean cheese dip is perfect for when you need a last-minute crowd-pleaser! Here&rsquo;s how to make it (printer-friendly version below):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Combine the cheeses.<\/strong> Crumble an 8-ounce block of creamy feta in a large mixing bowl. Add 3 ounces of room-temperature cream cheese (or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themediterraneandish.com\/homemade-labneh-recipe\/\">labneh<\/a>), 1 tablespoon <a href=\"https:\/\/shop.themediterraneandish.com\/product\/early-harvest-extra-virgin-olive-oil\/\">extra virgin olive oil<\/a>, and 1 to 2 teaspoons of some good <a href=\"https:\/\/shop.themediterraneandish.com\/product\/alfa-thyme-forest-wild-herbs-small\/\">honey<\/a>.
